Engraved asset & equipment identification.

We manufacture aluminum asset tags and other metal asset tags. For inventory, property control, and facility programs we engrave industrial asset tags and equipment identification tags. We also manufacture equipment nameplates and metal equipment nameplates with customer-supplied fields for voltage, model, serial number, amperage, capacity, and other required data.

Available formats include sequentially numbered tags, barcoded asset tags, QR-coded tags, engraved equipment tags, and tamper-evident asset tags. Dimensions, data fields, numbering, and mounting configurations are produced to the selected material and customer specification.

Engraved identification does not rely on surface printing for legibility. We select materials according to the installation environment, mounting surface, exposure conditions, and required service life. We manufacture and quality-check each order in-house in anodized aluminum, brass, stainless steel, or two-ply engravable laminate.

We use a fiber laser for metal identification and a CO2 laser for two-ply engravable laminate. Anodized aluminum asset tags are available in black, red, blue, silver, and other finishes. The material supports technical data fields, sequential numbering, barcodes, QR codes, and custom equipment identification layouts.

We offer naval brass and C260 cartridge brass for equipment identification and permanent installations. Brass is available for machine plates, facility identification, custom legends, and applications that specify a brass substrate.

Two-ply engravable laminate

Two-ply engravable laminate has a colored cap over a contrasting core. The cap is engraved to expose the core color. It is available for equipment panels, machine identification, and lower-volume tag programs. We stock 28 color combinations.

Available mounting configurations include adhesive backing, drilled mounting holes, rivet holes, stud mounting, and plate-only formats. We recommend the configuration according to the selected material, tag dimensions, mounting surface, environment, and installation requirements.

Can you engrave barcodes and QR codes?
Yes. Code 39, Code 128, QR Code, and Data Matrix engraved directly into the substrate — not printed labels applied on top of a blank tag. This is why barcoded engraved tags survive the environments that destroy printed barcode labels. Human-readable number and machine-scannable code paired on the same tag. What tamper-evident options are available?
Three main approaches: void-once-removed adhesive backing (leaves a visible "VOID" or checkerboard pattern behind on the mounting surface when removed), destructible foil substrates (the tag itself breaks apart on removal attempt), and permanent-adhesive stainless (physically difficult to remove intact). Applications include IT asset security, calibration seal programs, access-controlled equipment, and rental fleet ID. Send us your security requirement and we recommend the right approach.
Can you engrave equipment nameplates with data fields (voltage, model, serial)?
Yes. Multi-field equipment nameplate layouts are a core capability — manufacturer, model, serial, voltage, amperage, phase, capacity, weight, date of manufacture, and any additional data fields you require. Anodized aluminum is the standard substrate for equipment data plates; brass and stainless are also available. Send us your existing nameplate for a matching reorder, your data schema for a new build, or your OEM equipment spec sheet and we lay it out.
What's the difference between an asset tag and an equipment tag?
In common industrial usage, asset tags are for tracking and inventory (property ID numbers, barcoded tags for tools, IT equipment, furniture, vehicles) and equipment tags — often called equipment nameplates or machine ID plates — carry manufacturer and technical data (model, serial, voltage, capacity). We produce both. The right substrate, size, mounting method, and layout depends on what you're tracking or identifying, and what environment the tag lives in.
