Engraved brass valve tags for permanent valve identification, ASME A13.1 pipe scheme alignment, and mechanical system marking. Manufactured in-house on dedicated fiber laser and CO2 laser platforms — brass, aluminum, stainless steel, and engravable two-ply laminate under one roof. Engraved in Chico since 1982.
Engraved brass has been a durable standard for permanent valve identification for over a century. ASME A13.1-2023 governs identification of aboveground piping through color coding and legend requirements; industry practice extends the same content and color scheme to valve tags mounted at each valve body for consistency between pipe markers and the valve locations they serve. For facilities running lockout/tagout programs, permanent brass or aluminum tags identify each valve as an energy-isolation point — the permanent identification that stays with the valve between LOTO events.
Permanent identification and temporary tagout devices are two different products. The temporary tagout device applied during a lockout/tagout event is a separate product category governed by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147, with specific construction requirements: non-reusable self-locking attachment with a minimum 50-pound unlocking strength, DO NOT OPERATE or equivalent warning, and the identity of the employee applying the device. We make the permanent brass identification tag that marks the valve — not the temporary tagout device applied during the LOTO event.
We now manufacture on dedicated in-house fiber laser and CO2 laser platforms. Fiber laser handles brass, aluminum, and stainless steel; CO2 handles engravable two-ply laminate for chemical environments where metals corrode. Four core materials, one facility, no outside vendors — turnaround discipline, material consistency across reorders, and quality control at the source. Send us your valve list, tag content, color coding, and attachment preferences. We come back with pricing, material recommendations, and a proof for your approval before anything ships. Reorders match the approved layout already on file.
Valve tags are the point-of-use identification standard across mechanical, electrical, and life-safety systems. We engrave brass, aluminum, stainless steel, and engravable two-ply laminate to match each application's environment, color-coding standard, and attachment method.
We run dedicated fiber laser and CO2 laser platforms in-house. Fiber laser marks brass, aluminum, and stainless steel; CO2 engraves two-ply engravable laminate for chemical environments where metals corrode. Material choice comes from the environment your tags will live in — alloy, chemistry, temperature, and mounting method matched at the quote stage.
Built to ASME A13.1-2023 pipe identification and your facility standard. We manufacture to customer-provided specifications, drawings, color-coding standards, and facility documentation. We don't perform pipe identification engineering, determine required color coding, or act as the authority having jurisdiction — we engrave the tag to your spec.
Send us your valve list, tag content, and facility color-coding standard — or a sample of your existing tag for a matching reorder. We'll come back with pricing, material recommendations, and a proof for your approval. Reorders match the approved layout already on file.
